Hip pain: home physiotherapy

Pain or stiffness in the hip joint.

How physiotherapy helps

Hip pain may originate from osteoarthritis, gluteus medius tendinitis, bursitis, or femoroacetabular impingement syndrome. It is particularly common in elderly and athletes. During home physiotherapy, the therapist assesses range of motion and muscle balance around the hip. The program includes manual therapy for muscle relaxation, gluteal and core strengthening exercises, targeted stretching, and gait improvement. For arthritis cases, low-impact exercises (such as aquatic therapy principles) can be incorporated. Proper physiotherapy significantly improves quality of life and may delay the need for total hip replacement.
