Postnatal recovery: home physiotherapy

Recovery after childbirth.

How physiotherapy helps

The postnatal period is critical for restoration of the woman\u02bcs body. Many women face problems such as back pain, diastasis recti, incontinence, or pelvic floor issues that can become chronic if not addressed. Postnatal home physiotherapy is ideal because the mother doesn\u02bct need to travel with the newborn. A specialized female therapist assesses the condition of the abdominals (checking for diastasis), pelvic floor, and spine. The program starts with gentle breathing and pelvic floor activation exercises from the first weeks, and progressively adds deep abdominal strengthening exercises (transversus abdominis), posture improvement, and return to fitness. Emphasis is also placed on proper breastfeeding and baby-holding techniques. With consistent physiotherapy, recovery is faster and more complete.
